Cat Portraits

I love cats.  Can't help it.  I have had a cat in my life since I was a child.  But I must admit I have not painted many cats, so I decided it was time to do so!  Here are my latest cat portraits.

"Leo the Cat" 8" x 8"  oils
Leo is my current baby.  He is so sweet and demands lots of attention!

"Blue Eyed Kitten"  8" x 8"  oils
This is my baby kitten we named Lacy.  We called him that because
as a kitten he loved to play with our shoe laces!  We loved him so much,
but sadly, he came down with cancer and we had to put him down.
But we had 11 wonderful years with him.

"Calico Cat"   8" x 8"  oils
This is a portrait of my kitty named Vickie.  She is so sweet!
She has the most interesting coloring.  We love her to pieces!

"Black and White Beauty"   8" x 8"  oils
I love black and white cats!  This cat has lots of white whiskers
so she is all about those whiskers!

My new cat paintings are available via Daily Paintworks!

Bird Watching

I have been exploring more small ACEO drawings in black & white.  So what is an ACEO you ask.  It is a small work of art - just 2.5" x 3.5".
I have mine matted to fit an 8" x 10" frame.  Drawing these tiny works has been fun.  I have been exploring using white charcoal, black and white ink pens.  A variety of subjects is always a challenge to draw so small.

CATS
My kitties give me endless subjects to draw and paint.  I especially like it when they are sleeping or sitting very still.  Lacey enjoys watching birds through the window at our bird feeder.  The birds seem to know he can not get at them!
Leo, my striped tabby cat, gets into some of the most crazy positions!  He likes to sleep in an old chair in our living room on his back.   What a character he is!

Orange Kitten   6" x 6"  oil on gessoboard

I have always had cats in my life as long as I can remember.  They are the best friends in the world!  They cuddle with you and love you as long as you are good to them.  So I decided it was time to do some kitty portraits.  I have been working from a calendar given to me from Friends of Turlock Animal Shelter.  This is a great group that helps find homes for cats and dogs.

Here are my first 6 portraits.  You might notice that I enjoy painting orange kitties!  Carrying on my exploration of ORANGE.

Orange Kitty with Blue Eyes   6" x 6"  oil on gessoboard

Paintings are $125 framed and $95 without a frame.   $40 from the sale of each painting will be donated to this dedicated group.

Send me a really good, close-up photo of your cat and I will consider doing a portrait of YOUR loving kitty.
